Lib Dem stuff in Newham

And speaking of Simon and Lynne, tonight I'm off to a fundraiser for one of the three local Lib Dem parties I'm working with in the upcoming London elections. The constituency I'm running for in the Greater London Assembly elections is called City and London East and includes Tower Hamlets, Newham and Barking & Dagenham.

Newham is a great little party - very active and with keen members. Hopefully when the campaign proper kicks off next month we'll be able to attract more supporters and members. We're having a belated St Patrick's Day buffet tonight where we'll all be chipping in (last month it was a Shrove Tuesday event).

Ah, the joys of local party activities!
Getting Started...

So here I go, into cyber space and an already crowded market. Who knows whether anyone will ever find me? Or feel I have anything worth saying? But let's give it a go and if it doesn't work... well no-one will ever know!

Having watched blogs move from the periphery into the mainstream of political discourse, I may look as if I'm coming to this after everyone else. Well we'll see. Of course doing this just before April Fool's Day may suggest it's little more than a joke, but I'll let you be the judge of that. Let me know what you think.

Besides, when even Lynne Featherstone and Simon Hughes have blogs (my fellow candidates in the June elections here in London), then it's about time I tried to catch up!
